Job Description

McCarthy Building Companies is looking for skilled Laborers 1 for an exciting project in Burlington, TX.  In this role, you will support our experienced carpenters by moving materials, maintain a clean jobsite, and measure/cut concrete forming systems for large concrete pours in commercial, civil, or marine environments. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of proven experience as a laborer in large construction sites.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Actively participate in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) meetings  
• Utilize common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.)  
• Successfully complete required training to use personal arrest system  
• Assist carpenters with installation of form systems   
• Properly measure, mark, and cut various materials  

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Prior experience with self-perform concrete work in commercial, civil, or marine environments  
• Understand construction terminology  
• Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools  
• Proven commitment to Safety  
• Work in an organized manner  
• Able to work night shifts when needed  
• Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site  
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions  
• Must be self-motivated and can work well with others  
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency  
• Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds  
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces  
• Minimum age 18+  
• Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
