Northstrat is seeking a Systems Engineer to become a member of their Engineering Team who will support multiple teams across the GVS program in an Agile team environment. The team is planning engineering activities during release planning events in accordance with the GVS program roadmap and assist woks to accomplishing the objectives laid out for each release. The team also regularly performs engineering studies or concept of operations (CONOPS) to investigate and proof engineering activities prior to their inclusion in a GVS program increment (PI), and works with the government customer to shape on-contract growth through RFCs and Surge CLINs.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
Must have an active Top Secret with SCI clearance. If you do not have this type of active clearance, you are ineligible for this position

Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Windows Server
Amazon Web Services
COTS & GOTS software version management
Experience with AWS infrastructure and architecture
Experience translating customer requirements/vision into discrete Engineering and Development Features with Acceptance Criteria
Experience with SAFe and Agile Release Trains
Demonstrated experience working across multiple teams and job functions, bridging both sustainment and enhancement priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
Desired Skills:
Minimum 2 years of geospatial domain experience
Must be able to demonstrate experience working across multiple teams bridging both sustainment and enhancement priorities
Must have experience working with NGA customer
Ability to distinguish the appropriate level of information to communicate to various levels of leadership
GVS Domain knowledge
Cloud and Agile certifications
Experience coordinating and integrating with other segments to deliver enterprise capabilities

Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
Experience with Geospatial visualization applications or GIS technologies (Google Earth, ArcGIS, MapLarge, OpenLayers, Cesium). Understanding of GIS metadata and/or imagery details.
Experience with or understanding of cyber security (Evaluating vulnerabilities, identifying mitigations, general security process knowledge)
Prior knowledge in or willingness to learn Docker, Kubernetes, and streaming analytic

Flex Time
Northstrat does not mandate specific working hours. Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month. For example: John worked 12 hours on June 1st to meet a project deadline. On June 15th, John only worked 4 hours because he left early for a long weekend. John’s IBA was not debited for time off because flex time allowed him to carry over those 4 hours from June 1st.
Individual Benefits Account (IBA)

IBA Benefits accrue each month in the amount equivalent to 50% of the employee’s monthly compensation rate. That is, the effective dollar amount of this accrual is in addition to an employee’s salary.
Profit Sharing Plan (PSP)
The PSP is a qualified retirement plan that Northstrat funds quarterly on the employee’s behalf through the IBA in the amount equivalent to 25% (up to the IRS contribution limit) of the employee’s compensation. That is, of the 50% accrual in the IBA, half of the amount accrued is applied to the PSP.
Stock Options
Because Northstrat is an employee-owned company, all new employees are offered stock options. Employees have the opportunity to receive additional stock options based on accomplishment of individual performance goals. Stock owners elect the Board of Directors and are directly impacted by the success of the company.
