Job Title : Senior Azure Cloud Architect Location: Richmond, VA, Hybrid Rate : Best competitive rate Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Architect to join our team to provide expertise and guidance on cloud architecture, security, and migration strategies for our client. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, architecture, and security best practices. As an Azure Cloud Architect, you will work closely with stakeholders to design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Architecture and Security: Advise the agency on cloud architecture and security best practices for Azure, including in-place migrations and refactoring of existing systems. Migration Strategy: Provide recommendations for lift-and-shift and cloud-native migration approaches for both on-premises to Azure and within the Azure environment. Refactoring Solutions: Suggest improvements and optimizations for refactoring applications and services within Azure. Testing and Validation: Conduct testing within Azure to demonstrate proof of concept and viability for architecture solutions. Collaboration with Stakeholders: Understand and integrate offerings from connected parties such as COV, MSI, and others to meet agency objectives. Azure Configurations: Implement configurations for Azure-based services to support agency-level objectives. Documentation: Develop and maintain professional documentation, including architecture design, position papers, and technical guidelines. Compliance and NDA: The candidate will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and maintain confidentiality at all times. Required Skills and Experience: Cloud Fundamentals: Strong foundational knowledge of cloud computing concepts and principles. Experience: 5+ years Cloud Strategy: In-depth understanding of single and multi-cloud strategies, including implications of hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Experience: 5+ years Cloud Solution Design: Experience in designing end-to-end cloud solutions that meet complex business requirements. Experience: 5+ years Azure Network & Storage Architectures: Expertise in Azure network and storage architectures to create efficient, scalable solutions. Experience: 5+ years Azure Services: Hands-on experience with key Azure services such as Azure Key Vault, Entra ID, Azure Functions, Web Apps, Containers, and Microservices. Experience: 5+ years Cloud Security: Knowledge of cloud security principles, including Zero Trust, network segmentation, conditional access, and just-in-time access. Experience: 5+ years High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Demonstrated ability to architect solutions that meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) in Azure. Experience: 5+ years Documentation: Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear and professional documentation for cloud architecture and processes. Experience: 5+ years Security Posture Management: Experience in managing cloud security posture, including vulnerability remediation, perimeter defense, and encryption. Experience: 5+ years DevOps Knowledge: Proficiency in DevOps practices, with experience using Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise Cloud. Experience: 5+ years Data Storage Solutions: Expertise in both relational and non-relational data storage solutions such as SQL Server, Oracle, and Cosmos DB. Experience: 5+ years On-Premises Architecture Experience: Previous experience as an on-premises architect with a focus on Azure migration. Experience: 5+ years Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
