Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The School Nurse supports the health, wellness, and safety of all students and staff by providing high-quality medical care, managing health records, and promoting healthy practices. In a Catholic school setting, the nurse also serves as a compassionate caregiver who upholds the dignity of every student and reflects the values of the Church.
Provide first aid, emergency care, and daily health services to students and staff
Administer medications and manage treatment plans for students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)
Maintain accurate, up-to-date student health records and immunization documentation
Monitor communicable diseases and report as required by local health authorities
Develop and implement health care plans for students with special medical needs
Educate students, staff, and parents on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention
Collaborate with faculty on health-related topics and initiatives (e.g., wellness programs, mental health awareness)
Serve as a health resource to the school community
Ensure compliance with state and diocesan health policies and regulations
Participate in school emergency preparedness planning and drills
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed
Assist in identifying and reporting child abuse or neglect as a mandated reporter
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
Experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting
Practicing Catholic or supportive of the mission and values of Catholic education
