Job Description

At the Carlisle Inn, Sarasota, FL the Front Desk Attendant serves as the first point of contact for all guests, ensuring a warm, seamless, and memorable experience from arrival to departure. This role requires exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to reflect the hotel’s mission through friendly, respectful, and guest-centered interactions.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Services

  1. Warmly greet guests and provide a welcoming first impression that reflects our mission of simple, heartfelt hospitality.
  2. Assist with check-in, check-out, room assignments, and special requests.
  3. Offer information about hotel amenities, local attractions, and cultural experiences related to the Amish and Mennonite communities.
  4. Handle guest concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and with genuine care.
  5. Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front desk and lobby environment.

Communication & Coordination

  1. Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  2. Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and management teams to ensure timely response to guest needs.
  3. Communicate any special accommodations or guest notes to appropriate departments.

Administrative Duties

  1. Process payments, balance cash drawers, and maintain accurate records.
  2. Manage reservations, cancellations, and modifications using the hotel’s property management system.

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  5. Basic computer proficiency and comfort with reservation systems.
  6. A welcoming demeanor and commitment to providing authentic, heartfelt service.
