Job Description

The Law Offices of Thomas Stahl, a boutique family and estate planning law firm with its main office in Columbia, MD, is seeking an associate attorney to join our practice. The ideal candidate will have trial experience ideally in family law. Experience with estate planning, probate, and estate litigation a plus. The candidate must be able to excel in a fast-paced collaborative environment and provide our clients with quality representation.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Manage family law, estate planning, probate and estate litigation cases.
• Assist with other cases as needed.
• Prepare and draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, financial statements, and other documents.
• Taking depositions and affidavits of clients and witnesses.
• Conduct and analyze legal research.
• Able to manage timelines and readily adapt to changes.
• Able to manage client expectations and demands.
• Able to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, preferably family law.
• Estate planning, probate and estate litigation experience a plus.
• Admission to Maryland Bar required.
• Admission to DC Bar required.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good writing and editing skills.
• Excellent organization skills and time management.
• Experience with Microsoft applications suite.
• Experience with case management software (preferably Clio).
• Able to manage multiple caseloads.
