Job Description

The City Attorney’s Office is a high-performing, collaborative team providing quality, cost-effective legal representation to the City. The ideal candidate is a proactive, service-oriented attorney skilled in analyzing complex issues, presenting thoughtful alternatives, and offering sound recommendations. This position advises the Planning Commission and works closely with the Community Development Department and City Manager’s Economic Development Division on matters involving land use, general plan amendments, specific plans, and CEQA.

Successful candidates will have five years of progressively responsible experience as a practicing attorney in California, a JD, and be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of California. Experience in a municipal government setting and with land use is preferred.
