Job Overview

The Accounting and Financial Systems Analyst position is responsible for assisting the accounting and financial systems team on accounting process improvements and SAP financial system projects. This position will assist with all accounting processes, financial master data, month-end processing, and financial reporting. The position will also develop skills to serve as the internal expert on all General Ledger, payroll accounting, and business processes and transactions within the SAP system.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists with routine financial accounting processes including Accounting and Finance master data creation and maintenance, journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations (bank, payroll, etc.)
• Assist with SOX testing and other department routines and projects as needed
• Compile and create Accounting and Finance reports and maintain existing reports to support business needs
• Assist management on project work, process development, and process improvement opportunities
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements) by collecting, reviewing business performance and financial information; summarizing financial status
• Serve as a liaison for special projects outside of Finance in coordination with other functions across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• 3-5 years of accounting experience and SAP FI/HRM or other ERP systems
• Expert in MS Excel
• Accounting knowledge and experience with financial close and reporting process
• Strong technical aptitude with problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills
• Possess a high degree of self-motivation and initiative
• Capable of multi-tasking under high pressure

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (4 years)
• Knowledge acquired through 3 to up to 5 years of work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Information Systems
